Learn a lesson! Holiday in Madrid

by Shaid

About four years ago I went to Madrid. It was a trip that I will never forget. I took the Easyjet flight from Edinburgh Airport at 7 o'clock in the morning. After about 3 hours, the flight arrived at Madrid Airport. Then I took the bus from the airport to the city centre. After about 30 minutes I got off the bus. There I saw some beautiful fountains, but I don't remember the name of the place.

I was standing near the fountains, when a man came and asked me " Where are you from?" I said "I am from Scotland". He said "Oh, Scotland is our friend, I am from Brazil". He shook my hand and started dancing and singing "We won the world cup, we are the champions". Then he hugged me and shook my hands. I was thinking he is not normal. Anyway he said bye and he went under the pedestrian bypass. I was shocked when I checked for my wallet. It was missing. I ran and followed him under the pass which was about 100 yards long. Nobody was there so it was scary. I ran very fast and came out the other side. The man was not there.

There was a big open place with nothing but an ice cream van and about three children playing football. Then I saw the man's head behind the ice cream van. He was looking at me. I pretended I did not see anything. I walked slowly to the ice cream van and then sped up and caught him strongly by his bag strap, which was around his neck. I asked him where my wallet was. He quickly gave it back to me.
I looked inside it and everything was there. Then he quickly walked away.

After this I took a taxi and went to my hotel. I didn't sleep very well that night, but I enjoyed the next day. There were a lot of nice helpful people.
